Tour Dates: Enter Shikari – A Flash Flood Of Colour North American Tour 2012

If you’re wondering what the most exciting tour this spring will be, I’ll lay odds that it’s going to come from electro/punk/hardcore rock outfit Enter Shikari.

Lauded on this site and elsewhere as one of the most exciting live acts out, Enter Shikari mashes dance beats with punk rock energy into a fast, furious politically inspired machine with room for moshing as well as for shaking one’s booty. Supporting their latest release, the amazing A Flash Flood Of Colour (out now on Hopeless Records), the band is going to be touring North America with Letlive and At the Skylines staring April 1.

Although the band has passed through the states a few times, it’s been in openeing slots and part of large package bills. For many, this will be your first chance to see the band do a full-blown headlining set. So get ready, as this will be serious.

Thrice Announces Farewell Tour Dates

After 13 years together, Thrice has decided to call it quits. Well, officially it’s an indefinite hiatus, but these things have the tendency to last indefinitely, so it may be best to assume that’s that, and then you won’t be disappointed down the road. But, before it’s over, they’re going to do it up right with a farewell tour.

Their final tour licks of in San Diego on May 4, traveling throughout the country before finishing up back home for the band with two nights at Anaheim’s House of Blues and their very last show at LA’s Club Nokia.

Along the way, the band will be recording at select dates for a live album of the tour, expected to release sometime in late 2012.

The Misfits – New Album ‘Devil’s Rain’ and Tour Dates

No matter whether it’s the original Danzig-fronted lineup or the current lineup lead by original member Jerry Only, the Misfits have carried the same message and iconic imagery. Fueled by late-night horror flicks and gruesome comics you had to hide from your parents, theirs is the world of the creature feature and monsters from outer space.

They’re back with a new album, Devil’s Rain, their first in almost a decade, and they’ve stripped it down to a three piece. The current lineup, consisting of founding member Jerry Only on bass and vocals, Dez Cadena (Black Flag) on guitar and Eric “Chupacabra” Arce (Murphy’s Law) on drums, holds true to the Misfits ideal – play hard fast music with a decidedly schlocky theme. It’s not quite formulaic, but it’s always fun.

Poison Idea announces tour dates and a rerelease of old material…

I’ll admit that I was a latecomer to Poison Idea, my first exposure being their incredible cover of “Up Front” on the 1993 tribute box set 8 Songs for Greg Sage and the Wipers – which has since been released on CD as 14 Songs For Greg Sage and the Wipers, and is a tribute to a great band by a bunch of other great bands – really worth owning (compare prices). But after that first exposure, I found myself seeking out more by the Oregon hardcore band.
