Bad Religion to appear at the Reason Rally in Washington DC

While alleged members of Pussy Riot sit in a Russian jail awaiting trial for hooliganism trials based on their protest appearance at Christ the Savior Cathedral, Bad Religion is gearing up for their own secular event, this one on the National Mall in Washington, DC.

Billed as the Reason Rally, the event is scheduled for this Friday, March 24. A free event intended to “unify, energize, and embolden secular people nationwide,” it will feature Bad Religion’s frontman Greg Graffin singing the national anthem as well as a set from the band.

Also appearing at the eight-hour celebration will be author Dr. Richard Dawkins, actor and comedian Eddie Izzard, writer and comedian Bill Maher, comedian Tim Minchin and many other champions of the secular cause.

Tour Dates: Enter Shikari – A Flash Flood Of Colour North American Tour 2012

If you’re wondering what the most exciting tour this spring will be, I’ll lay odds that it’s going to come from electro/punk/hardcore rock outfit Enter Shikari.

Lauded on this site and elsewhere as one of the most exciting live acts out, Enter Shikari mashes dance beats with punk rock energy into a fast, furious politically inspired machine with room for moshing as well as for shaking one’s booty. Supporting their latest release, the amazing A Flash Flood Of Colour (out now on Hopeless Records), the band is going to be touring North America with Letlive and At the Skylines staring April 1.

Although the band has passed through the states a few times, it’s been in openeing slots and part of large package bills. For many, this will be your first chance to see the band do a full-blown headlining set. So get ready, as this will be serious.

Tour dates are listed below. Read more…
